We have a passion for Revue! Sa Revue Awards is a competition dedicated ​to introducing Revue to the Western Cape. We are a team of passionate ​professionals who have a love for Revue, bringing 15 years of Revue ​excellence all the way from Gauteng!

Rules and regulations

  • All groups will have a 20-minute production time.
  • Production must show a theme/plot. The production must form unity.
  • Groups should consist out of 40 or more learners. The ideal number of learners are between 65 and 85.
  • No original voices of artist may be on the backtracks, the voices on the backtrack must be that of the children on stage or school choir.
  • A medley of songs must form a unit that supports the theme.
  • Schools and artists must themselves arrange for permission of original pieces where necessary.
  • You are entitled to use a soloist or duet in one song, while the group represented on stage.
  • There is no restriction on the choice of songs or language of the revue groups.
  • Song and voice arrangements and backtrack recordings are each school's own responsibility.
  • Schools will be penalized if any older voices are heard.
  • Backtrack must be send via WeTransfer to info@sarevueawards.co.za prior to rehearsal.
  • The choreography must be of such a nature that the songs form a unit, no intervals and no blackouts.
  • Costumes contribute to the completion of the production and are taken into account during assessment.
  • Maximum time duration of production (with walking up and down) must be a maximum of 15 minutes, and no less than 10 min.
  • Each school is responsible for its own props, props should not damage the stage.
  • Each school is responsible for its own transport to the event.
  • The judge’s decision is final and all score sheets with comments will be handed over to the schools.
  • Each group will have a 30 min rehearsal time on the stage prior to the performance time.
  • Prize money will be paid in to the winning school’s bank account, confirmation of account details will be requested.
